GroveWood Popular with young families, GroveWood is located in World Golf Village between Jacksonville and St. Augustine, Florida. Tucked into the back of the King & Bear, GroveWood is a charming single-family neighborhood of 122 homes rich with magnificent oak trees. GroveWood is abuzz with kids running, playing and riding their bikes while neighbors of all ages gather together to share a drink and chat.
Everything a neighborhood should be. For a thriving community with plenty to do and see, the pace is surprisingly relaxed at The Neighborhoods of World Golf Village. Homes and neighborhoods are tucked away on treed homesites and streets that intertwine with thousands of acres of nature preserves and unspoiled uplands. Amenities and conveniences are always close at hand. The community offers easy access to golf, tennis, shopping and more, with plenty of room and reasons to gather with friends and family.
Designed by the best. World Golf Village is home to two world-class championship golf courses, built for the enjoyment of pros and weekend players alike. The first and only course in the world co-designed by golf greats Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, the King & Bear is 7,279 yards of challenging play through scenic pines and live oaks. The Slammer & Squire, designed by course architect Bobby Weed with player consultants and Hall of Fame members Sam Snead and Gene Sarazen, gives golfers views of the World Golf Hall of Fame from several holes, which are set against a backdrop of preserved woodlands and wetlands.
A breath of fresh air. Northeast Florida's natural beauty is the backdrop for The Neighborhoods of World Golf Village, where blue herons, deer and native tree species are your neighbors. More than 44 percent of the community's lands - approximately 2,700 of 6,300 acres - are protected as nature preserves in the community, which received the ENVY Award for building in harmony with Florida's sensitive environment. Residents enjoy both active and passive parks, perfect for enjoying the area's year-round temperate climate and gentle change of seasons.
The vacation never ends. Enjoy resort-style amenities right at home at the Swim & Tennis Center. Take a dip any time of year in the heated Junior Olympic-sized adult pool or play under the lights at the tennis courts. Bring the family to the playground or beach-entry pool, entertain in the clubhouse or on the open-air veranda, and work out at the adjoining Fitness Cottage. A full-time activities director is on hand to coordinate ballroom dance lessons, swim lessons, social gatherings and more.
Old-world charm, new-world options. With a 16th-century Spanish Colonial town just to the south and a metropolitan city to the north, World Golf Village offers easy access to everything from historical sites and art festivals to symphony performances and international airport service. Located between St. Augustine and Jacksonville, The Neighborhoods of World Golf Village is also convenient to miles of unspoiled beaches, just 10 minutes away.
More than 200 days of sunshine and a median temperature of 78 degrees allow outdoor activities year-round. The Atlantic Ocean, St. Johns River and inland waterways make the area a popular destination for boating, fishing, surfing and skiing. Professional sports draw spectators and participants from around the country for Jacksonville Jaguars NFL games, the PGA TOUR's Tournament Players Championship (TPC), minor league baseball and tennis.
Shopping, recreational and dining choices include quaint boutiques on St. Augustine's cobbled streets, regional and brand-name outlet malls, five-star restaurants and rustic waterfront spots with fresh, local seafood.
