About the Area
Located in the southern portion of Napa County, American Canyon is appropriately called the "Gateway to Napa Valley." Residents enjoy celebrated wineries and restaurants along the world famous Napa Valley Wine Trail just a short drive away. In addition to recreation, American Canyon is also part of the award-winning Napa Valley Unified School District, making this a great place to live. The city's ideal location also provides easy commute access to Sonoma and Marin counties, the East Bay, and San Francisco.

American Canyon has several recreational outlets in store for you and your family. Children and teenagers will quickly discover baseball and softball fields, a little league complex, and a state-of-the-art 13,000-square-foot skate board park. All ages will enjoy the Phillip West Aquatic Center, featuring a 25-yard swimming pool, snack bar, open turf areas, and chaise lounges.
Award-winning School District
American Canyon is a part of the Napa Valley Unified School District. There are three elementary schools and one middle school in town. Over the last three years, Napa Valley Unified School District has revamped its school support model, resulting in a 25-point gain on California's Academic Performance Index (API) district-wide, and growth in more than 90 percent of district schools.
