How can I find out about employment with Standard Pacific? What should you expect if you apply for a position? Here is a brief explanation of our process:
When a position becomes available at Standard Pacific, we typically list the position on our website and collect resumes from applicants through our website. When screening for qualified candidates, we review the applicant resumes submitted in response to each listing, search our database of past applicants, and follow up on referrals provided to us.
If your skills and experience are found to match an available position, a representative from Standard Pacific may contact you. In addition, all resumes submitted through our website are stored in a database for future reference. If you are contacted by a representative of Standard Pacific, you may be asked to initially attend either a phone or face-to-face interview. After your initial interview, depending upon the nature of the position, you may be asked back for additional interviews.
We place significant importance upon searching for the candidate that is the right fit for each position. Therefore, you should expect the application and interview process to span a period of at least 3 weeks, and in some cases longer. During the interview process we believe that it is equally important for you to assess whether or not Standard Pacific is the right fit for you. For example, does the environment suit your style, do you feel you can work with those you interviewed with, will you be comfortable with the commute, are the duties and tasks exciting to you, do you feel over or under qualified, etc.?
If we invite you to a face-to-face interview, please come prepared with a summary of what you know about us, a clean copy of your resume, a record of your compensation history, a list of professional references whom we may contact and any questions you have for your interviewer. In addition, upon arrival to our office you will be asked to complete our Application for Employment.
All candidates are subject to employment verification, education verification, and criminal background checks prior to employment. In addition, some positions require a credit check, DMV check, and/or pre-employment assessments/tests be completed prior to employment. These checks can take from several days to a week or more to complete.
The important thing for you to remember is that the hiring process will take some time. However, we’re sure you will agree that this is time well spent.
We believe that by taking our time to ensure a good fit, we can ensure the success of each individual team member and the business as a whole.
