  • Overview

The Structure phase is the basis for all the work to come. We start by preparing your home site, then placing the foundation. After that, we construct the exterior walls, interior walls, and then add the roof.

    PREPARATION_IMAGE

    Preparation

Our team oversees the operation of heavy equipment to grade the home site for your new Standard Pacific home. They will level and smooth the land to create the best slope and angle for your home as designed by a professional engineer.

    Foundation

Once the foundation is dug and the underground plumbing is in place, then the form boards are set to receive the placement of concrete. After the concrete’s initial curing period, the form boards are removed in preparation for the next steps to construct the exterior structure of your home.

    Structure

This is when your home really starts to take shape. Using quality materials and proven building techniques, Standard Pacific Homes' construction professionals assemble the home's structure. Walls and window spaces become visible. Interior walls and hallways are constructed.

    Dry-In

The roof and exterior walls of your home are complete. The structure now starts to take shape, and you can begin to see what your new home will look like when it’s done.

  • Your home's infrastructure is created during the Utilities phase of the home building process. The electrical system is installed; plumbing goes in throughout the home and HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems complete the utility system.

    Electrical

Professional electricians run wiring for lights, wall sockets, and major appliances. Telecommunication wiring for phones and televisions is also installed.

    HVAC

The heating and air ventilation systems are installed by trade professionals to ensure comfortable climate control throughout your home.

    Plumbing

Pipe and connectors are laid throughout your home by licensed plumbers and pipe-fitters. Pipe is also installed from your home to the curb, where it connects with external water and waste systems.

    Insulation

The attic and exterior walls of your home are now installed with energy efficient insulation.

  • At this stage in the process of building your new home, the home's exterior walls are finished, and the roof is completed. Inside, the detail work of building a new home begins, including installation of many of the finishes you chose at the Design Center. From countertops to cabinets, faucets to flooring - everything in your home starts coming together.

    Exterior

Your home's walls and roof are completed during this phase of construction. Walls receive stucco, siding and/or masonry finishes. Your brand new roof is installed and backed with our Home Builder’s Limited Warranty as well as the manufacturer’s material warranty.

    INTERIOR_TRIM

    Interior Trim

After the drywall operation is completed, the finishes to your home are installed including your interior doors, base and casing. You'll see how beautiful your kitchen cabinets and countertops look. You can admire the bath fixtures and tile and see how well the paint colors complement the rooms and the beauty of the flooring, accent hardware and lighting.

    Flooring

After your flooring selections are installed, you'll notice the warmth and elegance they add to your entire home.

    Quality First Certification

Throughout the entire construction process, our internal Quality First inspections are conducted at 12 different stages of construction to ensure that each detail is executed to our exacting standards.

When your home nears completion, a final Quality First Certification inspection is conducted to ensure that it is complete and ready for your New Home Presentation Tour. When certified, a Quality First window sticker is signed and proudly displayed in the front window of your home. Your home is now ready for your New Home Presentation Tour.

  • New Home Presentation Tour

Once all of your home's finishes are in place, your scheduled New Home Presentation Tour will take place. Your home’s features and functionality will be discussed and demonstrated by your Standard Pacific Homes Representative during the New Home Presentation Tour. There's a lot to see in your new home, so take your time, ask questions, and let us show you the difference a Quality First certification makes.

  • This final step means you'll soon be home.
