Major Achievement in Marketing Excellence Awards

CHARLOTTE, NC (April 26, 2012) Standard Pacific Homes has been named Builder of the Year by the Home Builders Association of Charlotte.  This prestigious award was presented to Standard Pacific Homes at the annual Home Builders Association Charlotte’s Major Achievement in Marketing excellence (MAME) Awards Banquet.  Cathie Campbell, Bonterra Builders, chaired the banquet that was attended by nearly 200 Sales and Marketing Council members and their guests.

“This annual event recognizes the achievements of new home sales people.  The banquet honors their outstanding work from the previous year and is the event people in the industry anticipate each year.  In addition, the 2011 MAME (Major Achievement in Marketing Excellence) Awards banquet celebrates 27 years of success,” stated Romelle Scharnberg, with Success Marketing and Sales, chair of the award winning Sales and Marketing Council.

2012 Home Builders Association Vice President Alan Banks, Evans Coghill Homes, opened the event with congratulations to the MAME Committee for creating an outstanding event in a year that has faced many economic challenges.  Bill Gallagher, Superior School of Real Estate, was the emcee.

This year’s Builder of the Year was selected from seven builder nominations by a panel of industry experts.  Known for a reputation of quality in home building since 1965, Irvine-based Standard Pacific Homes was selected as the winner.  The company serves 24 markets within eight states and is currently building newly designed single-family homes and townhomes in Mecklenburg, Gaston, Union, York and Iredell counties. 

Standard Pacific’s President of the Carolinas, Elliot Mann, served as president of the Home Builders Association of Charlotte in 2007.  He continues to support the Association through participation in MAME.  Mann stated, “We are very proud to be recognized as Builder of the Year by the Home Builders Association of Charlotte.  This award is a testament of the commitment of our team to providing an exceptional value and a superior ownership experience for our customers.”

Other Builder of the Year nominees included:  Arthur Rutenberg Homes, Bellamy Homes, Bonterra Builders, Eastwood Homes, Mattamy Homes and Ryland Homes. 

Individual Achievement awards went to Tim Lantz with Standard Pacific Homes and Alma Jacobs with SunTrust Mortgage, Inc.  Tim Lantz, Marketing Manager for Standard Pacific Homes, was named Marketing Professional of The Year.  Lantz serves the Charlotte and Raleigh Markets for Standard Pacific Homes.  Alma Jacobs was named Lender of the Year.  Jacobs has a long career in the Home Builders Association of Charlotte and is the leading membership recruiter for the Association.

The Home Builders Association of Charlotte is celebrating 67 years of success.  The Association is comprised of builder and associate member firms.  Nearly 700 firms are members of the Association.
